Why do I have flies in my my fireplace?
I have my fireplace door sealed with plastic due to we do not use it and want to keep the draft out. We did leave a burnt piece of wood inside though, but the flue is closed as is the ash removal door. There have been a dozen flies buzzing around in my fireplace, and there is no food source in there? I am stumped to why they are so many and persistently in my fireplace? Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance!
If the flies are big ,and green it was a rat that died ,but for sure something died in there.Like above stated make sure you have a cap on your fireplace.
